2019: Mills Introduced A Bill To Require Doctors To Tell Abortion Patients That A Medical Abortion Can Be Reversed. According to WKRC, “Kentucky State Sen. Robby Mills is the sponsor behind a Senate Bill 50. It would require doctors and providers to tell a woman she can reverse a medically induced abortion if she wants after taking the first of the two pills before they prescribe the pills. ‘This does not keep anyone from having a chemical abortion. It's just giving them information that if they have regrets or want to change their mind, that it is reversible before the second pill is taken,’ Mills said.” [WKRC, 2/22/19]
- An ACLU Spokesperson Said The Bill Was “Ideologically Driven” And A “Blatant Attempt To Deceive Patients.” According to WKRC, “The abortion pill is two pills that you can take up to 48 hours apart that will cause an abortion. Planned Parenthood said it's effective 90 to 98 percent of the time depending on how far along the pregnancy is. ‘We want people that are receiving abortion care here in Kentucky to receive information that's based on research and based on science. Not any scripts or unsupported claims that are ideologically driven and not medically driven,’ Amber Duke, the communications director of the ACLU of Kentucky said. ‘We just think that this is a blatant attempt to deceive patients and push an anti-abortion agenda.’” [WKRC, 2/22/19]
2019: Mills Supported A Bill To Report All Prescriptions For Medication Abortion. According to The Lexington Herald-Leader, “Require doctors to report all prescriptions for abortion drugs, such as RU-486, to to the state Vital Statistics Branch, which will publish an annual report online showing how many prescriptions were written. The data would not identify patients or doctors. Medication abortion has become a more frequent choice for women in the United States since it was approved for use in 2000, even as surgical abortions have declined. Bill sponsors said they don’t believe anyone is collecting all of the data on these drugs. ‘I believe in accurate reporting of all abortions that are occurring in Kentucky,’ state Sen. Robby Mills, R-Henderson, told the Senate Committee on Veterans, Military Affairs and Public Protection on Thursday. The committee approved the bill.” [Lexington Herald-Leader, 1/10/19]

These people of courage and perseverance have given witness to the humanity of the most vulnerable. At last, the U.S. Supreme Court has blotted out one of our nation’s most grievous errors and recognized the dignity of every child, including the unborn. This moment has set our country on a new course. As co-chairs of the Kentucky General Assembly’s bipartisan Pro-Life Caucus, we rejoice in this transformational victory. It’s a testament to the faith and dedication of pro-life leaders and advocates who have stood firm in communities, churches and voting booths across our Commonwealth. We have shown that Kentucky proudly supports the unborn, as well as their mothers and families, at every stage.” [Robby Mills and Nancy Tate - Lexington Herald-Leader, 6/30/22]

Mills Called For A “Pro-Life Constitutional Amendment” In Kentucky. According to an op-ed in The Lexington Herald-Leader, “This November, Kentuckians have the opportunity to pass a Pro-Life Constitutional Amendment. It will make clear there is no right to an abortion or the funding for abortions in our Commonwealth’s Constitution. It’s called the Yes for Life Amendment, and it’s a necessary protection against the dark-money groups, abortion advocates and activist judges who want to put their own politics above the will of the people.” [Robby Mills and Nancy Tate - Lexington Herald-Leader, 6/30/22]
